1. Why you should take the general GRE test?
The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is
a computer adaptive standardized test that considers as a university entrance
exam for Masters, MBA, or Ph.D. equivalent programs, especially in North
America. There is no score that guarantees admission but a minimum of 300
considers the pass mark for applying. You can balance low CGPA (below CGPA 3)
with a decent GRE score.
2. Exam format of GRE
2.1. There are three sections:
Analytical Writing: You will face two separate timed tasks. First, appear to analyze an issue task then analyze an arguments task. You will get 30 minutes for each written task & received a scale score of 0 to 6 out of 6.
Verbal
reasoning: You have to answer a total of 40 questions that come under two
sections. Each section contains 20 questions & gets a total of 30 minutes or
1.5 minutes per question or 90 seconds for each question to answer. You will
receive a scale score of 130 to 170 out of 170.
Quantitative
reasoning: You have to answer a total of 40 questions that come under two
sections. Each section contains 20 questions & gets a total of 35 minutes
or 1.75 minutes per question or 105 seconds for each question to answer. You
will receive a scale score of 130 to 170 out of 170.
During
the exam, if you face the verbal section first, then the exam sequence will be

Cautions: One of the verbal reasoning sections will be the research or unscored section but not sure which one. Therefore, you have to equally perform better for all sections. If you found one section very difficult, do not consider it a research section, it is possible to get the next section more difficult than the previous one.
